Waiting for Autumn to Fall

I. Am. Tired. Of. Summer.

I am so very ready for Autumn.
Low temps, boots, sweaters, fires in my fireplace; these are a few of my favorite things.

I've been slowly, ever so slowly working on my crochet and sewing.

I'm working on a variation of this dress to wear in a friend's wedding in four weeks.
Yeah, wish me luck!

Crocheting sleeves into my "never done" sweater. I'm on the second sleeve now and once it's done, I do believe my sweater will be done!!
Yay!!

We had a little bit of rain this evening and after the sunset was just beautiful!

Now if only the temps would just fall already!

I need Autumn!

What's your favorite season?

Last min WIP ... Not.

Well, with tomorrow being St Patty's day, and me wanting to make a Shamrock pin. I thought to my self "Find a quick pattern and hook one up."

Ha ha ha ha ha ah ha ha.

As you can see this is a right proper mess.
I think I'll call it quits.
Last minute projects are not for me.

I'll go back to my blanket of awesome.

What's on your hook?

Wednesday Kitty Post!

Okay, I think we can all say that I have shown to be a tiny bit obsessed with my cat Persephone. I just can't help it. I love my kitty.
Persephone is just so expressive, and cute, and sweet, and a pain; all rolled in to one normal-not-normal cat.

Lately she has developed a fondness for sleeping on pillow on the sofa.

As you can see, she really likes this red sofa pillow. She is also giving me That look. You know. The one that says "What are you Doing?"

I think she thought I was going to play with her mouse. LOL

Of course since it's Wednesday I suppose I should also share some of my work in progress. :-)

I'm working on my "lazy" blanket.

This is what I work on when I'm too lazy to count, or follow a pattern. Do you do that? I simply can't believe that I'm the only one with a lazy project!

This yarn. I love this yarn. I know I've gone on about it before, but I'll do it again!

This is the Island Collection. The yarn is 67% Cotton, 25% Wool, and 8% Silk.
It crochets up like a dream!!

I have this blanket I'm working on, and I have a sweater I need to finish by putting buttons onto it. I just haven't got the "umph" up to mess with buttons tonight.

What's your current project?

Fantastic and Fabulous

Hello there!!
Thank you for stopping by my little corner of Blogland.

I have to say it.

I do love language. And with that I have a bigger love affair with two words the most.

Fantastic.

Fabulous.

This was my past weekend.

Looking at fantastic tiny homes...

...and gypsy wagons.
Hubby and I really need to get to cracking in making one.

Trying on a fabulous corset.

Yeah. I liked this one.

Spending a fantastic evening with a friend having wine, rum, and playing with yarn.

Enjoying a fabulous fire with my hot rum while at my friends house.

Having a fantastic cup of coffee this morning.

How was your weekend?

Voting: Or my crochet and hopes in progress....

Feel the Bern! Maybe?

Yesterday in GA was the day to vote in our primary. I voted Democratic, as I felt the need to vote for Bernie Sanders.
Yes, I think his ideas are good ones.
We'll see how this plays out by November.

Right now I'm still working on my sweater. I am seriously hoping to have it done by Monday, and as I'm on the last finishing edge, I should.

How's your week so far?

Tick...Tock...

Time.
It just keeps going and going and going.
I have moments while I'm driving to or from work and think of a great blog post, then I get home and poof! Gone is my idea!
I'm not getting as many cute or interesting pictures right now either.
But.
I do have a few.

I. Got. A. New-to-Me. Car!!!
It's a 2014 Fiat 500L Easy.
I. Love. It!!

I've named her.
Pepper Who.
Can you guess why?

LOL. I am such a geek over the show Dr. Who.

I am also letting my hair grow long again. I'm not too sure why I keep thinking I'll love it short. But, meh.
I have also gone with a tiny bit of a shocking color!

Cute, yes?

Well, I'm off to get back to my crochet. I am almost done with my sweater!
Yay!!

What's on your hook or needles?

The Wannabe Queen....

She has decided that this pillow, this red one right here, is hers.

She has also been so kind as to inform me that I am a horrible slacker for not working on my crochet any so far this week.

I shall endeavor to remedy this tomorrow evening.

Do your own Majesties boss you around?

WIP Wednesday!!

It's Wednesday. That means it's time to see what I'm working on!

This is a sweater that I had thought I was finished. I have since decided it needed to be longer.

So I snipped in two spots and frogged the bottom shell edging and started adding length. You can see the frogged yarn wound up on a bobbin.

This shows what my two pretty glass buttons look like.

And of course, I have a blanket that I've been working on for the past few years now. Like seriously, I have been hooking away at this one project off and on for maybe four years or so? At least? At this point I have no idea if I'll ever get this one blanket finished. LOL

What's your longest running project?

Winter Time Love

It has been a cold and blustery month so far. The kind of month where I want to stay on my sofa with a fire in my fireplace and play with yarn all day.
Most people I know are thinking I'm daft beyond all reason because I love winter. But there is so much to love.  Cozy fireside coffee or cocoa. Warm snuggles with pets and sweeties. And yarn.

I had started this way back in the beginning of Decamber and frogged it not once, but twice.

However, once done? Love!!  I love this perfect hat!!

One of my most favorite things about winter is how the frost looks like glitter on everything first thing in the morning.

Tuesday of last week I picked this beauty up. I have it sitting on my desk to cheer me up and watch it bloom.

This morning I was not disappointed. I love this deep shade of purple and the smell! While it's quite pungent, it's just right at work.

What are your Winter time loves?

Right Now

Right Now I Am....

Loving the crisp fall weather that allows me to have hot tea and a fire going.

Loving plotting and planning my next crochet make.

Loving snuggles with Persephone. This is one kitty that loves to lay in front of the fire.

Loving deep jewel tone fall colors.

Right now I am loving Autumn.

What are you loving right now?

Not to Panic....yet

I will not panic is my new mantra starting tonight.
You see, in October; the first weekend in October to be exact, there will be a wedding.
I am making the shawl for the bride to wear.

How far along should I be? I had hoped to be done with the main part by now and working on the edging.

I am so not nearly done with the body of the shawl yet.

                   I will not panic.
I will be done with the shawl in time.
                          I will.
   I have to. :-P

I do love my little cozy corner with my cute, old chair and my Fantastic bookshelf. I love tea cups and teapots.

I love having my Tardis teapot right where I can see it every day. I do use it once in a blue moon too. ;-)
This shelf is also where my crochet and embroider books are too. It makes it so easy to get to them if I want to look up anything.

Are you rushing to finish a project in time?

I need to make lemonade...but life is so hard it won't even give me the lemons just now....

Ever had that kind of week?

Month?

Year?

It just seems like you can't catch a break?
Well, we haven't hit a truly hard rock bottom yet with our finances, but dang if we aren't close. đź‘€
I have been applying for all the receptionist/admin assist jobs I can find in my area, and I'm about to apply for the basic retail jobs because I need an income as of yesterday.
Not getting any calls for interviews, or getting a call back after the only two interviews I have had is starting to break apart my self esteem so badly.

Sigh.

I'm trying to make lemonade out of my lemons, but right this moment all I have to work with is the water.

Water....           Dreaming about water means that you are dreaming about emotions......
Speaking of water, hubby and I went out last Friday and explored a park that I hadn't been to yet.
We had been getting quite a lot of rain last week, so the water was just gushing down river.
Fast water...I love it!

Dudley Park in Athens is part of a Greenway project that I think show how well urban areas can keep green spaces that allow people to enjoy nature.
Pretty art and benches.

Water...flowing by, ever changing and yet looking the same.
Fast river water. Majestic.

Tall stately pillars...
Old historic railroad trusses.

The shawl's progress report...
The first stage of the pattern has gotten long enough, so I have started the main body of the pattern. Once I've gotten that done, then I'll do the final edging.
I have to say that working with Juniper Moon Farm's  Findley yarn is a dream! It's so soft and I am so in love with the color!

So, I'm off to pluck away at the shawl.

Crochet, tea, ramen, Grace, and Harmony

I love hot tea. I always have. I love coffee too, but tea is for pleasure and caffeine, where coffee just doesn't give the same jolt of pleasure that spicy, mellow, or traditional teas give. I most often make my tea in this:
It's old. It's my Mrs. Tea-pot. It makes a pretty great little pot of tea. It came with a little white ceramic teapot that I use once in a while.
Then there is my "spot". This is where you are most likely to find me sitting while having my tea and crocheting lately.
I love my growing collection of teacups and teapots. I love my little "grannie chairs". This is becoming my spot to try and refresh my sense of Harmony. It's where I plug in my phone and listen to Pandora and ponder what Living with Grace means to me and how I can keep spreading the ideals of living with grace and the ideals of Chivilary to others. If we could just learn to not hate. Learn to not hate those that are other, different from ourselves. Grace, Harmony, and Chilvilary.
I'm on the job hunt again. Have been for a month now. As such we are trying to squeeze blood out of our pennies. So it's been a ramen week for us. I've been playing with different ways to fix mine.
Tonight's was was to add a spoon of peanut butter, along with a spoon of butter. This was yummy. I'll add some heat by way of cayenne pepper next time too. Maybe shrimp, or chicken and peppers....
I've been working on my near mindless crochet today too as I try to not get caught up too much in the spewing of sides on the internet with the current affairs. I love this yarn.
Noro kureyon color #40. 100% wool, so I am planning on felting this when I'm done.
I am almost done since I am now working on the handles. I won't have enough yarn to add a pretty scalloped edging, but I think the colors will make it pretty enough with out the added details.
I'll also likely line the inside with a bright water paint frabric once it's felting. I'll know what size to make the lining then.
I'm just going to go back to my yarn now. Sitting in my spot, enjoying harmony. Hoping for the world more Grace and Harmony as well.
