Waiting for Autumn to Fall

I. Am. Tired. Of. Summer.

I am so very ready for Autumn.
Low temps, boots, sweaters, fires in my fireplace; these are a few of my favorite things.

I've been slowly, ever so slowly working on my crochet and sewing.

I'm working on a variation of this dress to wear in a friend's wedding in four weeks.
Yeah, wish me luck!

Crocheting sleeves into my "never done" sweater. I'm on the second sleeve now and once it's done, I do believe my sweater will be done!!
Yay!!

We had a little bit of rain this evening and after the sunset was just beautiful!

Now if only the temps would just fall already!

I need Autumn!

What's your favorite season?

Walking in Fairyland.

This past Saturday, hubby and I went to walk a Fairy trail at Sawnee Mountain.
Funny enough, I never actually took a picture of the Fairy trail sign. LOL

But I did take a lot of pictures. Lots.

This spot needs lots more houses!!

Can you see the fairy house?

Fairy house roofed with moss.

Wild Pink Azalea.

Pretty flowers.

This view!!

The Indian seats.

It was a wee bit windy. The view though was stunning!!

This was. 3.5 mile hike and I gatta tell you, my leg muscles are not happy. But it has spurred us to take up walking again.

Last min WIP ... Not.

Well, with tomorrow being St Patty's day, and me wanting to make a Shamrock pin. I thought to my self "Find a quick pattern and hook one up."

Ha ha ha ha ha ah ha ha.

As you can see this is a right proper mess.
I think I'll call it quits.
Last minute projects are not for me.

I'll go back to my blanket of awesome.

What's on your hook?

More Gardening joy

This past Saturday I found myself awake and out into the front yard by 6:30 am.
Now, to fully comprehend this you have to know I am not really a morning person.
 At all.

This picture was after I had been outside for a little while.

You see, I have developed a gardening bug.

I get this way every spring.
I just happen to be more dedicated to getting the garden I want, and to getting it right.

I started off by clearing out my small rose bed and adding a new little rose.

I cleaned out all the grass that has been trying to take over and I am assessing what's next for this little spot.

I'm thinking more little roses and some purple shamrocks too.

Then I shall move on to the area by our front door.

Wednesday Kitty Post!

Okay, I think we can all say that I have shown to be a tiny bit obsessed with my cat Persephone. I just can't help it. I love my kitty.
Persephone is just so expressive, and cute, and sweet, and a pain; all rolled in to one normal-not-normal cat.

Lately she has developed a fondness for sleeping on pillow on the sofa.

As you can see, she really likes this red sofa pillow. She is also giving me That look. You know. The one that says "What are you Doing?"

I think she thought I was going to play with her mouse. LOL

Of course since it's Wednesday I suppose I should also share some of my work in progress. :-)

I'm working on my "lazy" blanket.

This is what I work on when I'm too lazy to count, or follow a pattern. Do you do that? I simply can't believe that I'm the only one with a lazy project!

This yarn. I love this yarn. I know I've gone on about it before, but I'll do it again!

This is the Island Collection. The yarn is 67% Cotton, 25% Wool, and 8% Silk.
It crochets up like a dream!!

I have this blanket I'm working on, and I have a sweater I need to finish by putting buttons onto it. I just haven't got the "umph" up to mess with buttons tonight.

What's your current project?

A touch of the Irish

I have a fondness for the turning of the seasons; even if this year I'm not quite ready to let go of Winter.
I do enjoy Spring, and the abundance of plants and flowers it brings.

I have been keeping a plant on my desk at work for a while now. I first started with a plant from home in a pretty pot.

I forget what this plant is called. I loved it and have plans on having much more of them in my garden this year.

I then moved on to a different plant when my first one was not doing so well.

I went for a hyancyth in a beautiful deep blue-purple. This was a great choice as it stayed in bloom and was very fragrant.

After a while it did finally stop blooming and was needing to go home to get planted into the ground.

Which leads me to now. It's March. I do have Irish and Scotish heritage. I love, love, love St. Patrick's day as a celebration of all things Irish.

It should come as no surprise that I have gone with this plant.

A very dainty Shamrock. I chose the plum Shamrock as I like the play of sunlight on and through the leaves.

I am also totally planning on having some really tasty St. Paddy's food next week.

Fantastic and Fabulous

Hello there!!
Thank you for stopping by my little corner of Blogland.

I have to say it.

I do love language. And with that I have a bigger love affair with two words the most.

Fantastic.

Fabulous.

This was my past weekend.

Looking at fantastic tiny homes...

...and gypsy wagons.
Hubby and I really need to get to cracking in making one.

Trying on a fabulous corset.

Yeah. I liked this one.

Spending a fantastic evening with a friend having wine, rum, and playing with yarn.

Enjoying a fabulous fire with my hot rum while at my friends house.

Having a fantastic cup of coffee this morning.

How was your weekend?

Voting: Or my crochet and hopes in progress....

Feel the Bern! Maybe?

Yesterday in GA was the day to vote in our primary. I voted Democratic, as I felt the need to vote for Bernie Sanders.
Yes, I think his ideas are good ones.
We'll see how this plays out by November.

Right now I'm still working on my sweater. I am seriously hoping to have it done by Monday, and as I'm on the last finishing edge, I should.

How's your week so far?

A Haiku of passion.

It was warmer today than it has been in a while and while I am not one to normally suffer spring fever; most especially these past couple of years and I have fallen so in love with winter, I have discovered that I have a yearning. Well, to be honest I have had this yearning for a while, I just keep it locked away and only take it out once in a while to daydream about.
Daydreams are nice though, aren't they?

This picture was taken a couple of years ago. However, it was taken at this same time of year very close to where I live.  This image then and now manages to evoke a very strong sense of wanderlust for me today.

A Haiku.

It is close to Spring.
Lust and yearning keep knocking.
So too, my hearts desires.

What are you yearning for?

Tick...Tock...

Time.
It just keeps going and going and going.
I have moments while I'm driving to or from work and think of a great blog post, then I get home and poof! Gone is my idea!
I'm not getting as many cute or interesting pictures right now either.
But.
I do have a few.

I. Got. A. New-to-Me. Car!!!
It's a 2014 Fiat 500L Easy.
I. Love. It!!

I've named her.
Pepper Who.
Can you guess why?

LOL. I am such a geek over the show Dr. Who.

I am also letting my hair grow long again. I'm not too sure why I keep thinking I'll love it short. But, meh.
I have also gone with a tiny bit of a shocking color!

Cute, yes?

Well, I'm off to get back to my crochet. I am almost done with my sweater!
Yay!!

What's on your hook or needles?
